9.4.2 Camera station conditions and stereo metric camera conditions
Section 5.6 describes all input statements which are required to include observed orientation angles, camera stations, and stereo metric camera conditions in the adjustment process. Here we show the connections between the statements which are important for these applications. The knowledge of Section 2.1.2 is assumed here. A practical application is shown in Section 9.6.2.
We have to distinguish on principle between:
- data, which is related to the camera. In this case this is the eccentricity vector e'. If necessary, these values are automatically introduced as unknowns in the adjustment process.
- data, which represents an observation in the adjustment process. This is camera station information as well as stereo metric camera conditions.
If necessary, the camera data e' are to be defined for each camera by means of an ECCA statement. It is recommended to have a preceding ECES statement to define the a priori standard deviation for e'.

Information about terrestrial camera stations can be introduced as observations by means of an ISTA statement. Thus, one statement is related to one photograph. A preceding definition of a priori standard deviations for these observations is necessary by means of an ISES statement. The components of the vectors e' must be defined for the camera.

Stereo metric camera conditions are related to a stereo pair of a stereo metric camera (e.g. SMK40). For each stereo pair one SMCO statement is necessary. The stability of the base components is to be defined by means of a SMES statement. The components of the vectors e' must be defined for both cameras.

Base length, its precision and its stability may be defined alternatively in the first SMCO statement. In this case the SMES, ECES and ECCA statements must be left out. This simplified input is only allowed if no ISTA statement is given in the data set.

Example 2 for stereo metric camera conditions |
A stereo pair which is not imaged with a stereo metric camera but from two different camera stations in the "normal case" must not be introduced with a stereo metric camera condition. In this case each of these photographs shall be connected with its station point by means of an ISTA statement. The measured base length may be introduced as a distance between the station points. The components of the vector e' must be defined for the camera.
