9.3.4 Adjustment of geodetic networks
BINGO may also be used for adjusting three-dimensional geodetic networks. The user can thus calculate geodetic networks which, for example, have been established for the determination of control points. The special possibility of adjusting only position networks or vertical networks was not taken into account. X, Y and Z are automatically used as unknowns for each point. Thus, all point elevations for an adjustment of position networks should be dealt with as height control points with height Zero.
Three-dimensional adjustment is particularly recommended for engineering surveys, as for large elevation angles position and height of a point often cannot be determined independently.
The following input data are required:
- Survey measurements (see Section 2.1.4)
- Approximate values for all coordinates
- Control points or other datum information.
No approximate values for the coordinates can be calculated by BINGO for this case and therefore have to be given. A relevant small example is located in the directory \Bingo\DemoData\Geo_Net\. Another synthetic example is shown in \Bingo\DemoData\Hexagon\.
Geodetic networks with more than one million points have already been adjusted in BINGO.
