2.4.3 Simulation computation
Simulations without real measurements are possible for planning and optimisation of networks and for analysis of certain photo configurations as well as for investigation of the effects of certain measurements or conditions. In principle, data input is the same, but the real measurement values may be omitted. No solution vector x will be computed. The a posteriori standard deviation s0 will be set equal to the a priori s0.
If the real image measurements are also omitted, coordinates of object points cannot be determined by intersection. For this case all object point coordinates must be given. Additional parameters are suppressed. This calculation is activated by an input parameter.
If a network is completely measured but still in process of computation and not all errors in the network had been realised and eliminated, the simulation calculation can also be used in a helpful way, when this network is to be analysed in relation to reliability and obtainable precision. It is only necessary to turn on the simulation parameter.
