GPU processing was stabilized and accelerated. In the benchmark reported for this release, a block containing 58,270 photos, 933,470 points, four cameras, and 3,150,060 unknowns completed five iterations in 15 minutes and 40 seconds. Inversion and data snooping were not yet included. The release recommended this method for runs that did not require data snooping to remove gross errors.

The GeoinEditor and the Report Generator have been completely revised. Handling of temporary files in BINGO has been changed to avoid protection problems with Windows.

BINGO 7.2 changed the Earth-curvature correction from the Kraus method to the Mikhail method. BINGO 7.5 added a choice between the two models. See Section 2.1.6 of the Manual for the current equations and guidance.

In project.dat, the former combined correction parameter was split into separate values for atmospheric refraction and Earth curvature.

The models treat terrain height differently: the Mikhail model uses absolute terrain height, while the Kraus model uses relative terrain height. The resulting corrections can produce different exterior-orientation values, especially in hilly or mountainous areas.

Temporary files and bingo.lis

Writing temporary files to the Windows system drive caused permission errors on some systems. BINGO therefore began storing its temporary files in the project directory, with the .tmp extension. Examples include PhotoDt.tmp, bgNmat.tmp, and GeoCopy.tmp.

Temporary files left behind after BINGO terminates can be deleted.

Previously, bingo.lis could omit the final processing steps if BINGO terminated unexpectedly or was stopped by the user. The output cache is now flushed after each processing step and at selected points during longer operations.

Processor and operating system

BINGO no longer requires an Intel processor. It also supports multicore AMD processors.

BINGO 7.5 required Windows 10 and no longer supported Windows 7. This change followed an update of the WIBU protection software and development system.

Report Generator

  • GPS/IMU maximum values are no longer omitted.
  • Additional parameters are listed for every camera, with the camera number included in the list.
  • Stereometric camera conditions are included in the variance-component estimation section.
  • Test values for phi, omega, and kappa are no longer omitted.
  • Up to three photo-coordinate weight groups defined by GRUP statements are included in the variance-component estimation section.

Camera groups with different weights can now be defined in GeoInEditor.

The LINK between a GPS event and photo ID was removed.

When the vector from a camera to the GPS position or central camera cannot be determined, BINGO can use only the vector length.

GeoInEditor can now define differences between the exterior-orientation data of different photos.

Push broom scanner images

BingoS32 for processing push-broom scanner images was also available for BINGO 7.5 as a separately licensed option.

Graphical user interface (GUI)

The graphical interfaces of several BINGO tools were corrected for Windows text scaling, including 125% scaling.

LIMBO

LIMBO no longer produces empty result files in the affected case.

The erroneous limit of ten rays per point was removed. Points with more than ten rays are now displayed.
