BINGO 5.0

Most important Changes
Now 15 characters are allowed for all names of points, photos and cameras. Thereforee all input and output formats had to be extended. A comparison of old and new formats is given in file “FormatsCompare.pdf“. Where pointed brackets <> indicate fixed formats, round brackets free formats and squared brackets [] optional input values.
For GPS and INS data files the limitation for event numbers to 9 digits is still valid. By means of “LINK” statements in file “geoin.dat” connections to 15-character photo names can be established.
For file “project.dat” the change to the new formats will be done automatically in the graphical user interface (GUI). To make the changes, please open the GUI parameter window and save and close it again using Ctrl+X. The requested control and listing parameters for the GUI can be imported alternatively from any old file of type “geoin.dat”.
To change the formats for other files, the use of small macros e.g. with the editor PFE32 is recommended. Programming and running are very simple tasks.
All formats for coordinates and angles have been extended as well to provide more flexibility for the number of digits before and behind decimal point.
The programming language of the whole package has been changes from Fortran77 to Fortran95. Thereforee it was possible to eliminate already in this version several limitations in field lengths. This is e.g. in BINGO the case for the number of control points, adjustment points and many other values. In the future more field lengths will become dynamically.
The files “geoin.dat“ and “bingo.lis“ can be opened directly from the GUI now. For the first start a reasonable editor has to be selected – e.g “PFE32.exe“.
The default values of all standard deviation are set to zero now. Thereforee the explicit input of a (first) standard deviation is now for all types of measurements necessary. Compare file “\BINGO\Demo5\Combi_Adj\geoin.dat“. The only exception is the control points. The defaults for their standard deviations are 0.01 now.
The SPOT-Option is not yet available for BINGO 5.0.
The programs to convert photo measurements from ABC and Rollei (STRIBI) as well as from Orima and Socet Set (OrmToBgo) to BINGO are now working format free.
