Archived release

This page describes BINGO as it existed at the stated release date. For current behavior and requirements, use the current Manual, Reference, and Guides.

General

English and German user manuals are up to date. The Spanish version will follow soon.

The complete Bingo package is Windows10 compatible.

The optional functions for SPOT and JAS-150 line scanner data have been removed from the Bingo package.

Several small enhancements have been made to several modules, e.g.: GPSview, BgoPara and Implo.

Relax

The new Relax revision supports GPS data.

If a block does not contain ground control points at all, but GPS coordinates for the photos, Relax can use the GPS data for absolute orientation of the block.

Conditions:

Relax can transform all flight lines (or parts the block) together to one block using tie points between the strips. If this condition cannot be fulfilled, the complete block might be divided into parts.

This transformation will be performed always three-dimensionally. Thereforee it is not wise to apply it to single flight lines.

Major application of this possibility might be the estimation of initial photo orientation data for UAV projects. Those data sets have very often a simple GPS-receiver on board but no IMU and as well no ground control points.

Bingo

Normally the x'-direction of the photo coordinate system points into flight direction. If this was not the case several functions of the Bingo package were not available. The programs Bingo, Replo and 3dView have handled nearly all photos as short single flight lines. This has been a problem for several UltraCam projects.

This new release will now analyse and recognize those cases. Thereforee BINGO can now eliminate two-ray points correct within flight lines and keep those points only at the ends of flight lines or at gaps in the lines (if the option is set). As well the presentation of flight lines with different colors in the graphics programs is now correct.

The list of pre-defined cameras with several single CCD frames has been extended for data sets which have x' perpendicular to flight direction. The ADPA statement may now contain the following sensor types: ST=DMC, UCD, UCDrota,UCX, UCXrota, UCE, UCErota and RMK. Compare manual chapter 5.1.

Please note: These names are case sensitive.

Compression of all matrices on disk files is now included in all BINGO versions to reduce the necessary disk space.

The Combined Phase Ambiguity Solution (CPAS) for GPS data has not been applied any more by BINGO users and has therefore been removed from the program.

The LINK statement has been removed from geoin.dat, i.e. the event numbers in GPS-IMU data files have now to fit together with the image names from image.dat.

3D-View

A new presentation tool is now included in 3dView. Pushing "Ctrl+r" will start a rotation of the screen graphics. A next "Ctrl+r" switched the rotation off. (Toggle on and off.)

Multi-Core Version

The customers who already ordered the Multi-Core option, in this release a beta-version of the multi-core processing is included. In the Bingo Adjustment the most time consuming part, the factorization is running on every core of the computer. At the moment only for the big blocks there are significant changes (for small ones the same, or sometimes slightly slower – further optimization will follow). The development is in progress and the parallelization of the further parts will be coming soon.
