This page describes BINGO as it existed at the stated release date. For current behavior and requirements, use the current Manual, Reference, and Guides.

This new BINGO version includes many enhancements of the BINGO programs and BINGO tools. Two graphic programs are completely new developed: IMPLO and ADPLO. A new version of REPLO did not become ready to deliver it with this release.

It will include several new possibilities like e.g. drawing survey networks and mark control points which are not measured. Delivery is planned for early February 2012.

ADPLO

The earlier versions of ADPLO have been developed under DOS with very limited memory space and limited graphic functions. Thereforee the program has read the data and continuously output in the graphics window.

This new version reads data from the selected file and keeps it in memory. Now parameters for the graphic presentation can be changed fast and the graphic window will be redrawn immediately.

In case of problems with the input files or the data, a window (Fig. 2) for file selection will be opened. This window can be opened as well manually using the menu in the graphics window (Fig. 1). The size of the graphics window can be set as well from this menu.

Moving the mouse over the graphics window, the additional parameter effect in that point will be displayed.

The appearance of some buttons and selection boxes in the left side of the graphic window are depending on the input data (Fig. 3). For further details see the ADPLO help window.

IMPLO

For IMPLO many more data have to be available in memory then in ADPLO. For large blocks, reading the data can be time consuming. During that time a small window report the status of the program (Fig. 4).

In case of problems with the input files or input data, a window for file selection (Fig. 5) will be opened. This window can be opened as well manually using the menu in the graphics window as shown in (Fig. 1).

Tools

The formatting of the .ini files for all BINGO tools has been changed from binary to ascii. Existing .ini files will be changed automatically, when the new revision of a tool is called for the first time.

BgoPara, the BINGO parameter windows

Earlier versions of BgoPara have read as well files from old BINGO versions 3.3 or BINGO 4.0. This new release does not recognize these old project.dat files anymore.

To make BINGO use a little easier, we have removed a few parameters and reorganised the position of parameters in the GUI.

The menu with ″File / Save … ″ has been replaces by a group of fife buttons. The two buttons ″Save″ and ″Save & Exit″ will become sensitive, as soon as any parameter has been changed on any page. There are no more GUI changes on this page.

The GUI elements to average double photo data and the related warning limit have been removed. They are fix values in the program now: The average for all multiple photo data will be built always.

The sequence and the default of the radio buttons to select the action for the listed photos have been changed.

The GUI elements on this page have been assembled new. The RANSAC parameters, the key for pre-adjustment of object points and its related list parameter have been removed. They are now fix in RELAX.

The check box to prefer aerial orientation (ORIA) has been moved to the processing control parameter group.

All listing parameters are now at the bottom of this page.

The default value for Sigma of the photo data has been changed to 0.002 (2 microns). It allows now 6 instead of 5 digits for this value. E.g. .00025 is now possible.

The function to create a photo residual file is now included in ″Write to Itera file″. All parameters related to I/O with file itera.dat are now in one box ″File I/O parameters″.

The function to list ″Discrepancies in datum reference points″ is not longer available. The other free net parameters are now in a box in the lower left corner.

A factor f for y’=x’ f is very seldom useful. Thereforee it is not included in the GUI anymore.

The redundancy limit for photo measurements has been changed to list the residuals of all two-ray points. This is more applicable, because only two-ray points have a low redundancy.

The function to apply skip settings already when creating the skip file is now fix in the BINGO program.

BINGO

Because of some confusion with the integrity of the BINGO result file itera.dat and the related residual files reselli.dat, gpsresi.dat and imresi.dat, output of all these files is now depending on only one button. All of these files will be written or none. Thereforee it is not possible anymore to have incompatible versions of e.g. itera.dat on one side and imresi.dat on the other side.

A bug in memory allocation in the 64-bit BINGO version has been corrected.

In case of rank defectives the program does not stop anymore.

Format overflow for IMU misalignment angles in file itera.dat has been solved.

M64 Option

Experience has shown, that 64-bit versions of the programs RELAX, SKIP and LIMBO have no practical advantages. The computation times for SKIP and LIMBO can be neglected at all, and for RELAX we found in some cases faster processing, but in other cases slower processing. The advantage for BINGO is very high. We removed the 64 bit versions for RELAX, SKIP and BINGO.
