This page describes BINGO as it existed at the stated release date. For current behavior and requirements, use the current Manual, Reference, and Guides.

M64 Option

After long development time, the 64-Bit version of BINGO is now available. The batch programs RELAX, BINGO, SKIP and LIMBO can run in this mode.

Test with data sets of different size and structure have shown: For large data sets the computation time of BINGO can be reduced to 25 or 35% compared to the 32-Bit release. For smaller data sets the ″win″ might be still 50 or 60%.

Example: Block size 15.000 photos, and 596.000 points
3 iterations, Inversion and data snooping
Computation with BINGO 32-bit: 6 h, 07 min.
time: with BingoM64: 1 h, 51 min.

These four programs RelaxM64, BingoM64, SkipM64 and LimboM64 can run only on 64-bit Window versions. Furthermore the M64 license for BINGO is necessary. Please ask your supplier for an upgrade.

Usage of this M64 option can be toggled on and off. It is therefore easy to compare both versions.

Multiprocessor usage is not yet included.

Program Communications

Communications between the BINGO manager und the BINGO programs and tools via pipe have been completely changed. The pipe named ″bingo2pipe″ is not longer in use.

The output of very long error lists in the message window is now limited to 25 messages of the same type. The remainder will be suppressed.

A new technique is applied to send a ″kill″ via the kill button to running applications. This works much better now.

MakeItera

A new program has been introduced to create an ITERA file from given GPS data. Available heading data will be used to create the kappa value of the orientation data.

It can be started form the menu only: Tools / Transformations / MakeItera.
For details and application please see the help-file MakeIterahlp.wtx.

BINGO

Problems with not enough memory under 32-Bit Windows systems have been solved. Furthermore, several small enhancements have been made.

HEL3D

Program HEL3D has been enhanced: The ″3D Affine Transformations″ using five parameters with or without RANSAC error elimination can handle now data sets with different height references. This allows e.g. transformations of GPS-data to some known photo orientations without rotations around X and Y, but only around Z.

Example: A photo flight has been done with GPS, but without IMU. Ground control points are not available. BINGO can run the data without GPS as a free net. In a next step the itera file with the photo orientations and ground coordinates can be transformed to the GPS photo orientations. For details see the HEL3D help file.

LIMBO

Program LIMBO can handle now as well photo orientation data of type ″ORIT″ from file itera.dat.
