Draw the effects of additional parameters
This program displays the effects of the additional parameters on the image geometry. BgExport, available from BINGO Tools, can create a distortion-grid file for other photogrammetric systems.
Use the following formulae to correct photo coordinates:
X'(corrected) = x'(measured) - delta_x'
y'(corrected) = y'(measured) - delta_y'
Here, delta_x' and delta_y' are the values in the grid file.
Getting started
After starting ADPLO, a file-selection window opens.
Select the ITERA file containing the BINGO adjustment results. ADPLO reads the camera data and additional-parameter values from this file.
While the file-selection window is open, changing the project directory in BINGO Manager affects this application.
To reset all filenames, select Settings > Set File Defaults.
To reset all graphics parameters, select Settings > Set Drawing Defaults.
Click Draw to open the graphics window and close the file-selection window. To return to the file-selection window, select File > File Selection.
After you click Draw, the program checks whether the ITERA file exists. If it does, the program reads the APAV lines (see the BINGO manual, section 5.1, ADPA) and the CCD sensor data for user-defined CCD limits.
If the file is missing or an error occurs while reading it, the ADPLO window remains open so that you can select another file. Click Draw to create the graphics window. The graphics display parameters are explained below.
Only one of the two windows—the file-selection window or the graphics window—can be open. To open a second graphics window, start another ADPLO task.
Properties of the graphics window
If the project contains more than one camera, select one camera to draw. Adjust the settings in the graphics window as needed. Drag any edge or corner to resize the window.
To specify the drawing size, select Settings > Set Drawing Size and enter the preferred value.
The deformed grid represents the effects of the applied additional parameters to the image geometry. The vector sizes in the deformation grid can be set automatically or selected individually (see "Vector scale"). To get a wide range of possible values for this selection, the potential value ("10 power") can be set. Smaller values provide longer vectors.
The size of the longest vector is displayed in the upper right corner. A scale is given below the frame. It is valid for the grid and for the radial effects.
The displayed frame is always a square, even if the camera format is rectangular.
As you move the mouse across the drawing surface, Position shows the image coordinates at the cursor. Distortion x, y, s shows the x' and y' image distortion and the vector length at the cursor.
If an item on the left side of the window is highlighted, use the mouse wheel to change its value. Change the project text in the Text for drawing field.
The background color can be blue or white. Select Bold to draw bold lines.
The BMP File button opens a window for copying the current graphics to the clipboard or saving them to a file in the project directory. Without opening this window, press Ctrl+C to copy the graphics to the clipboard or Ctrl+S to save them to a file. If the last two characters of the filename are digits (for example, ADPLO_Graph_00), the number is incremented automatically. This prevents existing files from being overwritten. Other filenames have no protection against overwriting.
Press Ctrl+V to paste the graphics from the clipboard into Windows applications such as Microsoft Photo Editor, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Paint, Adobe Photoshop, or IrfanView. The free IrfanView application provides a convenient printing interface for creating paper copies of the drawings.
Press Esc to close the graphics window.
