Network license

A BINGO network license makes an agreed number of concurrent licenses available from a CodeMeter server. The license configuration in the offer, license certificate, and CodeMeter container remains authoritative.

License server

  1. Install the CodeMeter runtime from CodeMeter_8.40b\CodeMeterRuntime.exe.
  2. Attach or activate the BINGO license container on the server.
  3. Open CodeMeter Control Center and start WebAdmin.
  4. In the server or network configuration, enable CodeMeter network-server access and apply the change. The exact menu wording depends on the installed CodeMeter version.
  5. Restart the CodeMeter service from CodeMeter Control Center or Windows Services.
  6. Confirm in WebAdmin that the BINGO license is available.

BINGO itself only needs to be installed on the server if users will also run BINGO there or if the organization deliberately uses a shared program installation.

Client workstations

  1. Install the CodeMeter runtime and BINGO on each client.
  2. Open CodeMeter WebAdmin on the client.
  3. Add the license server's DNS name or IP address to the Server Search List.
  4. Apply the change and restart the CodeMeter service.
  5. Start BINGO Manager and verify that the expected license is found.

The license container remains on the server; it should not be connected to each client. If automatic discovery works reliably in the local network, an explicit search-list entry may not be necessary, but an explicit server address is easier to diagnose.

Network and security

Allow CodeMeter communication between the clients and server according to the organization's firewall policy. For access from another location, use a controlled corporate network or VPN; do not expose the license service directly to the public internet without a reviewed security design.

For a shared or virtual environment, confirm that the purchased license explicitly permits that use. A node-locked license may not be used on a terminal server or similar shared system unless agreed in writing.

Troubleshooting

  • Verify that the CodeMeter service is running on server and client.
  • Verify that WebAdmin shows the BINGO container on the server.
  • Test the server name and IP address from the client.
  • Check the Server Search List and firewall rules.
  • Check whether all concurrent seats are already in use.

Do not move or rehost a software license container without following the procedure supplied by Geodelta or Wibu. An unplanned move can make the license unavailable.
