Installation
Requirements
BINGO 7.7 is a 64-bit application supported on Windows 11.
- Provide at least 16 GB RAM. For very large blocks, 64 GB or more may be appropriate.
- Keep substantial free disk space for project data and temporary files; 50 GB is a practical starting point for larger work.
- Install the CodeMeter runtime and make the license container assigned to your organization available.
Memory and disk requirements depend mainly on block size, processing mode, and data snooping. Treat these figures as starting points rather than guaranteed sizing limits.
Install CodeMeter
- Sign in with an account allowed to install software.
- Run
CodeMeter_8.40b\CodeMeterRuntime.exefrom the release package. - Complete the CodeMeter setup.
- Open CodeMeter Control Center and confirm that the expected hardware or software license container is visible.
For a network license, continue with Network license.
Install the BINGO files
The release package is a ZIP archive. Extract the archive and copy the complete Bingo directory to an appropriate location where users can read and execute its files, for example C:\Programs\Bingo.
Do not run BINGO from inside the ZIP archive and do not distribute isolated executables: the programs depend on libraries and resources in the bin directory.
Create a desktop or Start menu shortcut to:
C:\Programs\Bingo\bin\BBman.exe
Keep project directories outside the installation, for example under C:\BingoWork. This avoids mixing user data and temporary files with installed software and makes upgrades safer.
First start
- Start BINGO Manager.
- Review the BINGO Software License Terms. Accept them only if you are authorized to bind your organization.
- Choose File > Select Editor and select Visual Studio Code, the recommended editor for BINGO text input and output files.
- Copy an example project from
Bingo\DemoDatato a working directory and select that copy with File > Select Project.
Upgrading
Before replacing an installation, back up local settings that must be retained and close all BINGO programs. Extract the new ZIP archive and replace the complete BINGO installation. Keep project data outside the program directory and run a known example project after the update. Do not mix executables and libraries from different releases.
